CELINE will be a hybrid between the classical sport lm, and a psychological
drama. It presents as a blockbuster, like for example Pumping Iron, but is, in its storytelling, closer to complex Arthouse films, such as Hanekes The Pianoplayer.

The film tells the story of a driven, but emotionally closed off, young bodybuilder Celine who leaves her old life in Europe together with her daughter, to pursue her dream in the US. There she meets people who share her ambition, but also a fierce rival, and an infuential lover who struggles to come to terms with her dormant sexuality. Ultimately, the complex relationship between the three, threaten not only Celine’s athletic career, but also her relationship with her daughter.
